500 level LASU student wins International Human Rights Commission essay contest

Sina Akinmusire, a 500 level student of the Lagos State University, has emerged winner of the International Human Rights Commission Nigeria Office Essay Competition.

Akinmusire from the Faculty of Law beat his counterparts drawn from other Nigerian universities in the keenly contested competition done in commemoration of the World’s Human Rights Day, which comes up every December 10.

The university’s Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello has applauded the student for making himself and the University proud, urging him to keep the flag of excellence flying as he attracts more accolades in the future.

This, however, isn’t the first time Akinmusire will be winning a national contest. In 2020, then a 400 level student, he emerged as one of the winners at the maiden edition of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) National Intellectual Property Essay Competition.
