As we celebrate the 365 days of Governor Babajide Sanwoolu and his cabinet at the helm of affairs of the centre of excellence, it is important as a Youth Stakeholder to implore the State to come up with more projects, ideas that will help shape the Future of young Lagosians.
No doubt the State has experienced tremendous development in the last One year but more can still be done for the Youths as they are the driver of the T.H.E.M.E Agenda if well developed and equipped.
How much is the society doing to prepare the Youths for the task ahead?. How effective is our Skill acquisition centres, Youth developmental programmes, Foreign exposure to meet up with International standards?. The honest truth is that there’s so much work to do.
The Government should consider the fact that Youths does not only cover the educated class, we have young Lagosians living without a direction and will do better only if they can access quality education. The government should come up with affordable adult education or form of learning for Youths living in remote areas.
Why can’t the Lagos State government establish a Talent Discovery Academy to help young people go to school while we help them build their talents? It will definitely go a long way to make Lagos State where to go for young Talents ready for the competitive world.
Why can’t we have a StartUp Lagos idea where young business ideas can be pitched to attract potential investors. The idea of searching for Job after NYSC will be reduced drastically when we encourage this businesses to thrive.
Why can’t they be time to time engagement between the Governor and the Lagos State Youths in order to learn about governance and task the Youths on policy formation and come up with a Solution.
Surprisingly, what the Youths only clamour for is to be considered for Political appointments not knowing that their financial freedom and knowledge is far better than the low level appointment. This is the time to decide on our priorities and walk the talk with all our heart together.
I applaud and salute the relentless effort of the Honourable Commissioner for Youths and Social development in Lagos State in uniting Lagos State Youths. It can only get better sir.
To our dear Governor, the reward of good work is more work and he should tap into the Youths constituency for brilliant ideas that will help in actualization of the T.H.E.M.E Agenda.
We are with the Igbega Ipinle Eko agenda.
Proudly Lagosian!
