3 policemen, civilian shot dead as gun men attack deputy governor
The convoy of the deputy governor of Nasarawa state, Emmanuel Akabe was attacked yesterday leaving at least three police officers dead.
According to reports gathered by BlackBox Nigeria, Mr Akabe was on his way to Abuja for today’s Ministers’ swearing-in when the incident happened. One other civilian was also confirmed dead.

The convoy was attacked around Gako hill in Eggon LGA of Nasarawa. The gunmen had reportedly laid siege on the road earlier before the deputy governor’s convoy approached which made the security operatives shoot into the air to scare the bandits away. The criminals however went into the bush where they ambushed the convoy which led to the killing of the three police officers and civilian.

The Nasarawa state Police Command spokesman, Usman Samaila has confirmed the incident saying the commissioner of police has been there to have first hand knowledge of what happened.
“As I speak with you now, the commissioner of police, the deputy commissioner operations and other high ranking officers of the command have gone to the scene of the incident.”
