The Presidency has given its words that it would not infringe upon the rights of Nigerians by stopping them from holding peaceful protests following adamant threats from the Police in Lagos State that it would stop the 2face Idibia led march on February 6.
The assurance was given by the Special Adviser to Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo on Media and Publicity, Laolu Akande who tweeted the government’s position on the matter.
He wrote, “This administration will not prevent Nigerians from expressing themselves in peaceful protests, it’s a fundamental right of the people.”

“No government has ever blaid out the kind of Social Investment Programme the Buhari govt is now running across the nation that will touch millions,” he added
Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Fatai Owoseni, had earlier warned that 2Face would not be allowed to hold the protest.
