Governor Hyacinth Alia of Benue State has appointed Nigeria’s music icon, Innocent “2Face” Idibia, as the state’s new Technical Adviser on Entertainment and Community Outreach.
The appointment, announced on Wednesday, placed the award-winning artist in a key advisory role to help drive the state’s engagement with the creative industry and enhance communication at the grassroots level.
2Face, who hails from Okpokwu Local Government Area in the Benue South Senatorial District, is one of Nigeria’s most celebrated musicians.
Beyond his chart-topping career, he has also been recognized for his philanthropic work and commitment to peacebuilding across Nigeria.
The Benue State government described the move as a strategic effort to leverage the artist’s influence and experience to promote youth engagement, cultural development, and public participation in government-led initiatives.
