2Baba Marks 25 Years in Music, Pens Emotional Tribute Ahead of Anniversary Concert

Nigerian music legend, Innocent Ujah Idibia, popularly known as 2Baba, is set to celebrate 25 years in the music industry with a grand concert tagged “The Experience”, scheduled to hold on November 14, 2025, at the Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.

In commemoration of the milestone, 2Baba released an open letter expressing heartfelt gratitude to the key figures who contributed to his journey; from his days in the iconic group Plantashun Boiz to becoming one of Africa’s most respected music icons.

“My heart is full of gratitude, memories, lessons, and love,” he wrote.

“This celebration is not mine alone. It belongs to everyone who played a role in shaping the story of Innocent Idibia, 2Baba.”

The letter singled out industry pioneers who played pivotal roles in his rise. He credited Nelson Brown for believing in Plantashun Boiz when they had nothing but a dream.

Baba Keke and D1 were praised for giving him his first professional deal and opening doors that turned dreams into milestones.

Eddie Lawani was lauded for offering Plantashun Boiz a platform when others wouldn’t, and DJ Jimmy Jatt was recognized for his loyalty, encouragement, and unwavering support.

2Baba described his journey as guided by people who “believed, supported, corrected, and inspired me, even when I didn’t fully understand where destiny was leading me.”

The anniversary concert is expected to attract top names in the entertainment industry and fans from across the country as they celebrate the enduring legacy of an artist whose music and activism have shaped generations.
