The borders between the Southwest States will no longer be a barrier as all the Governors have agreed to develop a 25-year Master Plan aimed at improving bilateral cooperation and foster regional development.
This decision was arrived at during the meeting of Southwest Governors Forum. The meeting was themed: Development Agenda for Western Nigeria (DAWN) Commission.
The meeting which was held in Abeokuta, Ogun State had all the State Executives present.

In a communique read by the host Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, the forum agreed to have a joint task force to guarantee safety of lives and properties. It also declared zero tolerance to crime as it focuses on prosperity of the people of the region.
The Forum also agreed to hold an Agricultural Summit in Ibadan, Oyo State to tackle bottlenecks in the area of food security and improve the sector in the region.
To foster identity and unity of people in the region, the Forum agreed to set up a Committee that would codify values and ethos of the Yoruba race.
