One Kehinde Musa, 25, has claimed his life over failed relationship with his 21-year-old girlfriend, Rasheedat Damilola Animashaun.
The Surulere Police Station, on Wednesday, at about 6:30 received information that on Kehinde, of No. 56 Modele Street, Surulere, had locked himself up in his room and consumed a poisonous substance known to be sniper.
The deceased was then rushed to the Hospital but died on arrival.
Preliminary investigations revealed that the deceased had earlier sent a suicide text message to his ex-girlfriend, informing her that he would take his life since she decided to quite the relationship.
Blackbox Nigeria gathered that, following the text, the girlfriend promptly informed the family of the deceased about the text message.
They all rushed down to Kehinde’s house, were they broke his door and found him unconscious.
The Police public Relations Officer, DSP Bala Elkana, in statement sent to Blackbox Nigeria confirmed that the corpse of the deceased had been deposited in the mortuary for autopsy.
