A 23-year old son of a prophetess, identified as Habib, has been arrested after he reportedly conspired and murdered a 43-year old man, Taiwo Eluyemi, for not allowing him and his friends to watch television in his apartment during the current lockdown in Lagos.
Black Box Nigeria reports that the incident happened at No. 7 Taiwo Street, Mafoluku area of Oshodi, Lagos State Sothwest Nigeria where they reside.
The Police at Makinde Division have retrieved the corpse of the deceased for onward movement to the mortuary for autopsy report.
The suspect, Habib, was detained at the Station from where he will be transferred to SCIID Panti for further investigation and prosecution before the Court for murder which attracts several years of imprisonment.
The late Eluyemi was allegedly brutally murdered with axes by Habib and two others said to be at large after he had a disagreement with Habib and his friends for coming to his place to watch television.
The disagreement did not go down well with Habib, who was said to have engaged two other of his friends and they targeted the victim while he went to pick his child. They reportedly used axes to inflict injuries on his hand and body. He was said to have bled profusely and before he could be taken to hospital, he died on the way.
When Black Box Nigeria correspondent visited Makinde Police Division, the DPO was said to have gone out for routine checks in the area but Police sources however, confirmed the incident and said that the matter will later be transferred to the SCIID, Panti for further investigation.
Police sources said that the suspect, Habib, may be a member of a secret cult and he might have invited his fellow cult members to carry out the dastardly act..
Residents of the area, who heard what happened, were still shocked over the incident and found it very hard to believe that Habib could carry out such act because her mother is a well known prophetess in the area.
