The Organized Labour Unions in Lagos have endorsed the candidacy of the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu and the re-election bid of Lagos State governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
The endorsement was done at a massive rally organized by the Labour Unions at the Police College, Ikeja on Thursday.
The event saw a huge turnout of members and stakeholders of the labour unions which consist of the Trade Union Congress (TUC) and the Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC).
While addressing the mammoth crowd, the President of the Lagos Chapter of TUC, Comrade Gbenga Ekundayo made a case for Sanwo-Olu’s second term bid.
“We have tested Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, and we have found him to have listening ears. And not just that, but he addressed our concerns. And to this extent, alongside the NLC Lagos Chapter, we have agreed, and endorsed that the man that has listened to us, and has the capacity to continue listening to us should continue,” he said.
Also, the President of the NLC Lagos Chapter, Comrade Agnes Sessi Funmi added that the union trusts the leadership of the Lagos governor and former governor, Tinubu.
She said, “Asiwaju is coming! Asiwaju we know for the next President of Nigeria.”
