2023: ADC candidate appoints ex-IKD FM boss as campaign spokesman

The presidential candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Dumebi Kachikwu has appointed a broadcast professional, Mr. Adeniyi Taiwo Kunnu, as the spokesman of his campaign organization for the 2023 elections.

Kachikwu confirmed the development in a statement on Monday, saying Kunnu bring his wealth of experience as a versatile communicator following long years of practice in the broadcast industry and lecturing in the academia.

Kunnu, who holds both Bachelors and Master of Arts degrees in Literature-in-English from the Lagos Sate University, and the University of Lagos, respectively, is currently a PhD student of Literature-in-English at the University of Abuja.

Until his appointment, he has held professional positions in both public and private sector including working as a Lecturer, Department of English and Literature, Lagos State University.

He is also a Researcher & Analyst, Training and Development Officer at Lagos Talks 91.3 FM. Between 2020 and 2021, he worked as Head of Operations at IKD 106.1 FM, a community radio station in Lagos.

Kunnu worked as Head, News and Programmes, Roots TV, Abuja between July and September 2019, and Senior News and Current Affairs; Programmes Producer & Presenter, Nigeria Info, 99.3, Victoria Island, Lagos from August 2018 to June 2019.

He is a member of many professional bodies including the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Radio, Television and Theatre Arts Workers Union and Association of Voice Over Artists of Nigeria (AVOA). He has also attended a number of international conferences and received several awards and laurels.
