The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has cleared the air over unconfirmed reports that it made an error in the scoring of candidates who sat for the just-concluded 2022 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
In a statement on Tuesday, the Board’s Head of Public Affairs and Protocol, Fabian Benjamin warned the general public and the candidates to desist from believing the rumours making rounds which he described as “products of the deceitful brains of the masterminds of these baseless imputations”.
He noted that the UTME was a computer-based test scored without human interference, insisting that there was no room for errors in the electronic scoring system.
Benjamin equally debunked rumours that JAMB was planning to reschedule another UTME for candidates owing to the error.
“The Board wishes to state that the report is not only false, mischievous, but also misleading and crafted out of the frustration and inability of these fraudsters to dupe unsuspecting candidates owing to the series of innovative strategies the Board had put in place to protect candidates,” he said.
He also advised candidates to make use of their user friendly method of assessing their 2022 UTME results and other processes by using the verified website – www.jamb.gov.ng.
It would be recalled that the examination body released the 2022 UTME results over the weekend.
