Nollywood actress Stella Damasus has reportedly received access to a trust fund worth over N3.5 billion established for her daughters by the family of her late husband, Jaiye Aboderin.
Sources close to the Aboderin family disclosed that the fund, named the “Estate of Jaiye Aboderin,” was set up following Jaiye’s untimely death 20 years ago to secure the future of his two daughters. The trust fund, which had been accumulating interest over the years, was reportedly fixed in a Merchant Bank (name undisclosed).
In early 2024, Damasus relocated to Nigeria with her daughters to facilitate the release of the fund after becoming aware of its existence. It is reported that the Aboderins are no longer signatories to the account, granting Damasus full control to oversee its disbursement to her daughters, who are now adults.
Jaiye Aboderin, a member of the influential Aboderin family, was married to Stella Damasus for a few years before his sudden death in 2004. The family’s decision to set up the trust fund has been lauded as a thoughtful move to secure the financial future of Jaiye’s children.
With this financial empowerment, the family is now welcomed into what many have termed the “Billionaires’ Club.” Damasus’ return to Nigeria and the significant windfall have sparked widespread congratulations to her and her daughters.
Neither Damasus nor the Aboderin family has publicly commented on the reports.
