19 Months After Fatal Bike Accident, Former Lagos Military Administrator’s Son, Olaolu Mudasiru Gets A Foundation

The friends and family of Dr. Olaolu Mudasiru, the late son of former Lagos State military governor Gbolahan Mudasiru, has launched a foundation in his honor. The foundation was officially inaugurated on Sunday, July 14, 2024, commemorating Olaolu’s life and contributions.

Olaolu Mudasiru tragically lost his life 18 months ago in a hit-and-run accident while cycling on Bourdillon road in Ikoyi, Lagos State. The incident, which occurred on a Sunday 11th of December, 2022, shocked many.

Despite efforts by the authorities, no arrests have been made in connection with the accident, as confirmed by the Lagos Police Public Relations Officer, Benjamin Hundeyin.

Olaolu Mudasiru was a distinguished professional in the field of investment banking, serving as the deputy managing director and co-founder of Vetiva Capital Management. He held multiple degrees including an MSc. in International Securities, Investments and Banking from the University of Reading, UK, and an M.B; B.S. Degree from the University of Lagos, Nigeria.

He was known for his extensive expertise in stockbroking, asset management, and wealth management, and was actively involved in the financial services industry.

During his career, Olaolu was recognized with the prestigious Chevening Scholarship from the British Government and was affiliated with esteemed institutions such as the London Stock Exchange and the Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, Nigeria. His professional journey spanned 16 years, encompassing roles that contributed significantly to the financial services sector.

The foundation launched in his memory aims to continue Olaolu Mudasiru’s legacy by supporting causes he was passionate about. Family members and well-wishers are encouraged to contribute to the foundation, which seeks to honor his memory through impactful initiatives.
