15 Things Ikorodu Youth Movement Has Done In The Last Two Years

The Ikorodu Division Youth Initiative Movement has made giant strides despite her young age.
This is possible by the drive, dedication and passion of the young minds whose aim and objective include seeing Ikorodu as a division attaining lofty height to the envy of all other division in Lagos State

The body gave a vote of thanks to all the members of the board of trustees, stakeholders in the division, all the sponsors and the entire Ikorodu Division for their selfless services in unflinching support towards the growth and development of the system.

Celebrating her second Anniversary today, 12th February 2020 the initiative listed Fifteen (15) notable achievement they have made since the last 2 years.
Here is the list below:

IDYIM activities from 12th February 2018 – date

1. We have invited over 50 dignitaries and personalities mostly young achievers to out online discussions on youth development, community development and governance. Feb 2018 – Aug 2019

2. Through your support, we took our online discussion to physical discussions tagged 1st and 2nd IKORODU DIVISION YOUTH SUMMIT. 2018 AND 2019 (Sponsored by IkdDiv Stakeholders)

3. Call for more voter’s registration centres and rotation of voter’s registration across the division. April 2018

4. Advocacy for 2019 peaceful election and peace accord among political parties and candidates across Ikorodu Division. Nov – Dec 2018

5. TWO EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES IN Lagos State for 2 Ikorodu Division Youth still COUNTING. ( THROUGH MR Leke KARA TESCOM BOARD Member and Ms Abisola Olusanya SA Agric)

6. Productive advocates for Youth inclusiveness in Governance ( Current S. A FOR AGRIC LAGOS STATE). 2019 – DATE

7. First (1st) Indigenous Youth Organization in Lagos State to be Incorporated and Certified with Federal Republic Nigeria under the Cooperate Affairs Commission CAC, 2019.

8. Organizer of 1st Legislative debate in Ikorodu Division in collaboration with Real INITIATIVE. JAN 2019

9. Agric youth empowerment for 22 Youths across Division through Ms Abisola Olusanya (SA Agric Lagos State). NOV 2019 – DATE

10. Empowerment training on 3D Epoxy Technology for 20 Ikorodu Division ( Sponsored by Ms Abisola Olusanya SA Agric) NOV – DEC 2019

11. Empowerment of one sawing Machine and one hairdryer to our 2 Youth (ladies) on vacation skin acquisition ( Facilitated by Ms Abisola Olusanya SA Agric) JAN 2020

12. N1million free interest loan for 10 young entrepreneurs across division ( Facilitated by Pst Bayo Oteju, Executive Director Ikorodu Division microfinance) OCT-DEC 2019

13. Empowerment and Entrepreneurial Development workshop for 80 Ikorodu Division Youths ( Sponsored by Ms Abisola Olusanya) DEC 14, 2019

14. Training of 35 youths on 10 Skin Acquisition. Currently ongoing in collaboration with Lagos Agency for Mass Education. JAN 2020 – DATE

15. Free 6 JAMB Forms donation to 6 indigent brilliant students ( Sponsored by two youth, Comrade Jimoh Hamzat, Ohun Ikorodu and Comrade Olamide Oloyede. DIR FIN IDYIM)

The initiative also requested the general public opinion and observation on all activities and areas that they need to work on for the progress of the movement.
