10 Psquare hits we would never forget

The reconciliation of music duo, Peter and Paul Okoye, Psquare, as we know them, is arguably the biggest thing to happen to fans of the Nigerian entertainment scene in recent times.

Putting away their five-year fued, the twin brothers are now back as a team as anxious fans await their comeback in the now-buzzling industry. To celebrate this august reunion in the month of November, BlackBox Nigeria takes you down memory lane as we highlight ten hit tracks from the talented singers.

Roll It

Released in 2007 from “Game Over” — the duo’s third studio album — “Roll It” was one of the biggest hits that year. The song’s visuals features the singers’ famous choreography as they served fans with amazing dance steps.

Do Me

Also off their 2007 album “Game Over”, the Waje-featured track combines the duo’s lyrical simplicity and the slay vocals of the songstress. The song went on to become a massive pop anthem.

Personally

What’s a Psquare throwback without mentioning this ever-raving jam that warmed our hearts in 2014? “Personally” was off the hitmakers’ sixth studio album, “Double Trouble”. According to the singing duo, the song was a tribute to late pop legend, Michael Jackson.

Alingo

The celebrated hit also comes off the album “Double Trouble”, and certainly caused trouble in the music scene as it enjoyed massive airplay and acceptance from fans. Not only that, the controversial dance moves that came with the song were also part of its selling point.

Bizzy Body

What is today described as one of the greatest songs from the music duo, the hit track off their second studio album, “Get Squared” released in 2005 was a sizzling dancehall song that rocked the airwaves.

Chop My Money

Coming off the 2011 album, “Invasion”, the hit track featured vocals from May D who was at then signed to the duo’s music label, and Senegalese-American hiphop legend, Akon.

Ejeajo

Featuring Grammy-winning American rapper, T.I., “Ejeajo” was released in 2014 off the “Double Trouble” album. A sleek combination of Afrobeat and contemporary pop tune, the song was certainly the fans’ favourite.

E No Easy

The track, off the singers’ 2009 album, “Danger”, was more of their little way of appreciating God for their humble beginnings and eventual success. J. Martins, who produced the song, also contributed vocals.

I Love You

This song warmed the heart of many fans, particularly women. Also from “Danger”, the subtle, loverboy-like romantic tune instantly became a hit and enjoyed massive airplay.

Beautiful Onyinye

When you feature American rapper Rick Ross, you are sure to make a hit. Originally off Psquare’s 2011 album, “Invasion”, the remixed track was one of the songs that pronounced the music duo’s international appeal.
