Youngster, Mbappe’s Brace Help Sink Argentina, Takes France To Russia 2018 Quarter Finals

 

19 year old French international, Kylian Mbappe has helped France to progress to the next stage in the ongoing World Cup in Russia as they ease pass South American side, Argentina in the Round of 16 match.

In the beginning of the match, Antonnie Griezmann had put his side in front after he scored from a spot kick until Angel di Maria equalised before the end of the first half.

A goal by Gabriel Mercado in the 48th minute had put the score line to 2-1 in favour of Argentina before an equaliser by Benjamin Parvard put the French side back into the game.

France however took the lead in the 64th minute after strike by Mbappe saw the back of the net and put 1998 World Cup champions in front for the first time in the match. The youngster then changed the tempo of the game as he scored again four minutes after scoring his first of the match.

Mbappe’s brace was all France needed as it the score line remained 4-2 until a late goal by Manchester City striker, Aguero gave the Messi-led side hope of coming back into the game, in the stoppage time.

The victory by France ahead of Argentina have made the side become first to get to the Quarter finals.
