Wizkid Fails To Win Nigeria’s First Ever Grammy As Awards Hold In Grand Style (See Full List Of Winners)

The hopes of millions of fans of Nigeria’s Wizkid and Canada’s Drake have been put to dash as nominations for their stars failed to clinch any of the Grammy plaques. Apart from that, the award ceremony was in grand style as it was up to expectations.

The 59th Annual Grammy Awards ceremony was held on February 12, 2017. The CBS network did broadcast the show live from the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

In the build up to the awards, news were rife about the Starboi lead act clinching a Grammy for his works on Drake’s tracks and album. He would have set a new record for being the first Nigerian to win the globally recognised award plaque ahead of Afrobeat maestro Femi Kuti who has four nominations in the past.
