Two Years After Defeat, Bim Afolami Emerges MP In UK

British born lawyer of Nigerian origin, Bim Afolami has been elected into the United Kingdom House of Parliament.

This is coming two years after he lost the same seat to Vicky Foxcroft in the Lewisham Deptford constituency. The same election saw four other British-Nigerians including Chuka Umunna emerged MPs.

BlackBox Nigeria can report that following yesterday’s election, Bim Afolami, a corporate lawyer will now be representing Hitchin and Harpenden constituency.

Others who are of Nigerian heritage in the new Parliament are Chuka Umunna, Fiona Onasanya, Chi Onwurah, Kate Osamor, Kemi Badenock and Helen Grant.
