By Sad! National Assembly Loses Another Lawmaker, Buba Jubril
Barely a week after the death of Senator Ali Wakil, another lawmaker, Hon Buba Jubril was on Friday confirmed dead in Abuja.
Hon Buba Jubril was until his death the Deputy Majority Leader of the House of Representatives.
Confirming his death, the Speaker of House of Reps, Hon Yakubu Dogara announced that the lawmaker gave up the ghost after a protracted illness.
He tweeted, “We @HouseNGR regret to announce the passing away of our friend, brother, colleague and leader, Rt. Hon. Umar Buba Jibrin, Deputy Leader of the House of Representatives, whose sad demise occurred in the early hours of Friday after a protracted illness.”
Hon Dogara also disclosed that Hon Buba Jubril, who was a former Kogi State House of Assembly Speaker will be buried later today in Lokoja, Kogi State, according to Islamic rites. He added that he is survived by wives and children.
