Rotary Club Holds Inter Secondary School Quiz Competition In Lagos

Rotary clubs in Lagos State have commenced Inter Secondary School Quiz Competition today. The competition is being organised by 5 Rotary Clubs; Rotary Club Of Gbagada South, Gbagada Maryland, Ikorodu Metro and Ewutuntun in collaboration with Lagos Education District 2.

The Qiuz competition which commenced today in Ikorodu Zone with venue at Oriwu College, will have 38 secondary senior schools under the supervision of Lagos Education District 2, Maryland competing for the star prize.

According to the statement made available to BlackBox Nigeria, the quiz is going to be in 3  phases with a Grand finale. The quiz will take place at District 11 Maryland for the Shomolu zone tomorrow September 26, 2018 while that of Kosofe Zone will be at Immaculate secondary, Maryland on September 27, 2018.

According to the organizers a career talk  will be added to the Somolu Zone with resource persons from University of Lagos and a sixth Form college while the Grand Finale will come up on October 11, 2018, at  Rotary District office, GRA Ikeja.

The first Rotary Club in Nigeria was formed with the assistance of Rotarian Vuilleumier. It was the Rotary Club of Kano, which was chartered on 28th April 1961. At the same time the Rotary Club of Lagos was being put together by late Rotarian S. L. Edu and late Simeon Adebo. The second club in Nigeria was admitted into the Rotary Family on 30th May 1961. Rotary Club of Ibadan followed as the third club when it was chartered in November 1961.
