It’s been over 90 days since President Buhari left Nigeria to seek medical attention. Nigerians now want him to #ResumeOrResign

A group of protesters yesterday stormed the streets of the nation’s capital to demand for the immediate return of the President to the country to take up his obligation.


Numbering into hundreds, the protesters led by a former PDP leader, Deji Adeyanju as well as top entertainment entrepreneur, Charly Boy amongst others called on the President to as a matter of urgency resume his duties or simply resign to allow the country move forward.
The protesters who consist of civil society groups are calling on the National Assembly to employ section 144  the Nigerian consitution by setting up a medical inquiry team to ascertain the state of health of the President and if found not well enough declared unfit for the continuous occupation of the office.
Speaking on behalf of his Foundation for True Freedom and Good Leadership group, Deji Adeyanju a former PDP Head of New Media accused the National Assembly of conniving with the cabal to upturn the wishes of the Nigerian citizenry stating that “Ninety days is too long for a president to be away from his country without any explanation to the people that voted him into office.”

If Buhari is incapacitated, he should do the honourable thing and resign -Deji Adeyanju

Adeyanju said, “the leadership of the National Assembly must choose between the Nigerian people and the cabal. Ninety days is too long for a president to be away from his country without any explanation to the people that voted him into office.”
He spoke further, “if Buhari has become incapacitated, he should do the honourable  thing and resign because he cannot continue to hold the country to ransom; his absence in the country is being exploited by a cabal to loot the treasury.”
“We hereby demand that the National Assembly invoke Section 144 sub-section 4 of the Nigerian Constitution and direct the setting up of a medical panel in conjunction with the Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, to ascertain whether the President is incapacitated or not,” he added.

Also speaking at the protest which invaded the Nigerian seat of power, former President of the Performing Musicians Association of Nigeria, PMAN, Charles Oputa better known as Charly Boy lamented the disregard for the country’s constitution as the President continue to stay in London at the detriment of the Nigerian populace. He spoke under the aegis of the ‘Our Mumu don do’ movement.
The protesters who moved in the rain from the Unity Fountain to the Presidential Villa have vowed to continue with the protests in Abuja and across the country and even take it to London until the President returns or the National Assembly do the needful.
