The Lagos Island building housing a school collapsed killing several pupils and trapping many others

“Efforts are in progress to rescue victims still trapped in the rubble,” a statement made on the official twitter page of the Rapid Response Squad read in reaction to the collapse of a school building on Lagos Island.

BlackBox Nigeria has moments ago broken the news is a three-storey-building collapse which has claimed the lives of numerous school pupils while many are still trapped inside.

Just In: A three storey building collapsed at Ita Faji area of Lagos island. The building housed a children’s school of a about 400 pupils,shops and flats of residence.

In a statement on its official twitter account, the RRS disclosed that they are on top of the situation to ensure victims are rescued.

“3 storey building collapses at Itafaji, Lagos Island. Efforts are in progress to rescue victims still trapped in the rubble,” RRS tweeted.

Commander of the Squad, Assistant Commissioner of Police Tunji Disu has also been sighted at the unfortunate incident making sure rescue mission is smooth.
