Like Ajimobi and Akpabio, former Governor Segun Mimiko also loses senate bid 

Former Ondo state Governor, Olusegun Mimiko has lost his bid to make an entrance into the Nigerian Senate. Mimiko lost to PDP’s Ayo Akinyelure at the Ondo Central Senatorial District. The former governor contested under Zenith Labour Party (ZLP).

Mimiko polled 56,628 to come third behind Ayo Akinyelure who scored 67,994. Incumbent senator, Tayo Alasoadura of the APC  came second with 58,092. 

Governor Ajimobi loses senate election

Olusegun Mimiko has earlier indicated interest to contest for President but silently moved to ZLP where he contested for senate. He was a two-term Governor of the south-west state.
