Students of Lagos State University have once again made the Best State University in Nigeria proud after emerging winner at the World Press Freedom Day Debate organised by the United States of America Consul in Nigeria.

The LASU Students, who are both from the School of Communication defeated counterparts from University of Lagos, Yaba College of Technology and Nigerian Institute of Journalism.

LASU was represented by Adebisi Titilayo (300level) and Iwuchukwu Cynthia (200level)

The competition had paired LASU and NIJ students in the first round while UNILAG was paired with its neighbours, YABATECH. The results from the first round saw the Ojo based institution facing the Akoka giant in the final round.

In the final round, it was apparent that the two sharp lads from LASU were yet to be out of the spirit of riot used to defeat it’s opponent in the first round as they staged a world class oratorical debate with a mesmerising masterpiece performance which eventually saw them crowned champions.
