Kwara SUBEB Staff Commits Suicide Over Unpaid Salaries

 

Mr Bashir Biodun, a former staff of the Kwara State Universal Basic Education Board on Saturday, October 28th committed suicide due to his poor condition caused by unpaid salaries, BlackBox Nigeria has learnt.

According to Mr Razaq Hamzat of Kwara Must Change, late Mr Biodun, a driver attached to the State Primary Education Board killed himself after he wan unable to bear with the several months salary being owed by the State Government.

He disclosed that despite the denial of the State Government not to be owing on media, several workers have been languishing in pain over unpaid salaries.

He also disclosed that Mr Biodun’s firdaus was held in his residence on Friday, November 3rd. He also noted that apart from the death of Mr Biodun which got media attention, some other workers in such situations have also killed themselves.

He however urged the Government to fulfil his duties by paying workers in the State, including Local Government staff.
