Nigeria’s Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo has terminated the appointment of the Director General of the Department of Security Service (DSS), Mallam Lawal Musa Daura.
The sack of the Secret Police boss was announced by the Special Assistant to Professor Osinbajo on New Media, Laolu Akande.
According to the tweet used for the announcement, Mr Daura has been relieved off his position and expected to hand over to most senior officer as he exit from office.
As at the time of filing this report, it is not certain the reason behind the sack of Mallam Daura, who has been said to be a close relative of President Muhamadu Buhari, but news making rounds online suggests that it may be connected to the operatives of the DSS who laid siege at the National Assembly earlier on Tuesday.
