Jimi Agbaje reportedly dumps PDP 

Another crisis has hit the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, PDP as its Lagos state gubernatorial candidate during the just concluded general elections, Jimi Agbaje is reported to have dumped the party.

His exit is coming days after the Director General of the Atiku Campaign Organisation and former Ogun State Governor, Otunba Gbenga Daniel also resigned from the party while indications suggest he might be in his way to the APC. 

According to reports gathered by BlackBox Nigeria, Jimi Agbaje’s exit from the PDP is coming on the heels of accusations and counter-accusations between the leadership of the party and the pharmacist turned politician.

BlackBox Nigeria gathered that Jimi Agbaje is being accused of sabotaging the party’s effort during the governorship election which he lost to the All Progressives Congress, APC candidate, Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu. 

The development is said to have frustrated Agbaje who is still nursing his loss at the polls which is his third defeat in his quest to govern Lagos.

In a statement credited to Jimi Agbaje, he also revealed that his exit is as a result of a fallout with the leadership of the party. 

“I have tried to remain focused and ignored all the distractions coming from the leadership of the party. I am making the decision after due consultation with my supporters and loved ones for the sake of peace.”
