The Lagos State Commissioner for Home Affairs, Dr. AbdulHakeem AbdulLateef has been declared the Lagos State Man of the Year 2018.
The Former Honourable Member of the Lagos State House of Assembly representing Oshodi Isolo Constituency II and Former Special Adviser to the immediate past Governor of Lagos State, Babatunde Raji Fashola on Political and Legislative Powers Bureau, won with 41, 415 votes .
In a Facebook post earlier to appreciate those who took time to vote for him, one of the nominees, Babajimi Adegoke Benson, member House of Representatives representing Ikorodu Federal Constituency commended the organiser of the award, the Centre for Policy Development and Political Studies for creating the avenue aimed at recognising role models in Lagos State.
“I commend the organiser of the award, the Centre for Policy Development and Political Studies for creating this avenue aimed at recognising role models in Lagos State, even though I still see myself as learning the curve of leadership.
“I am profoundly grateful for the out-pour of supports. And see this nomination as a challenge to keep doing more in Ikorodu Federal Constituency, Lagos State and Nigeria as a whole.
“As the 2019 general elections get close, permit me to crave for your unflinching support to the All Progressives Congress across all elective positions, as our party makes effort to reposition Nigeria for better,” he wrote in his post.
Benson noted that being found worthy of the nomination is an honour in itself.
