Governor marries predecessor’s daughter as 3rd wife 24hrs after inauguration

Newly sworn-in Governor of Yobe State, Mai Mala Buni has married a third wife barely 24 hours after  he was inaugurated as the state chief executive.

Buni on Thursday married Ummi Adama Gaidam, a Saudi Arabia university undergraduate who is the daughter of the immediate past Governor of Yobe State. 

In what BlackBox Nigeria gathered to be an arrangement to solidify the political relationship between Mai Mala Buni and his predecessor, Ibrahim Gaidam, the marriage was to ensure the groom’s continuous show of loyalty to his boss and predecessor.

The wedding Fatiha took place at the country home of Ibrahim Gaidam in the Sabon Fegi area of Damaturu, the state capital.

Buni is the immediate past National Secretary of the ruling APC who was inaugurated on Wednesday by the Chief Judge of the state, Justice Garba Na Baruma. He had also previously served under Gaidam as a Special Adviser on Political and Legislative Affairs to the Governor. Before then, he served as the state chairman of the party.
