Odd expressions could be correct

Join with me in welcoming the chairman (not, join me). When we get together with another person or group to do something, it is expressed as joining with them.

It’s time we went home (not, it’s time we go home). Other expressions in this category are: it’s high time, it’s about time. They express unreal future and so take the past form of verbs. However, we say: It’s time to go home (not, it’s time to went home).

Funnily enough, GAB didn’t speak English until he was 6 years old (not funny enough).
