I want beverage, preferably beer. (not, necessarily to say alcohol). Any liquid that can be consumed apart from water is a beverage.

It’s the close of work; good evening everyone (not, good night). The time of the day between dusk and night when it gets dark is evening not night. So, the appropriate greeting at the close of work is to say “Good evening”.
