By Dino Proves To Be Cat With Nine Lives As INEC Releases Time Table For Recall Again
Despite getting a Court to stop the exercise of his recall process which would have commenced over a month ago, controversial lawmaker, Senator Dino Melaye may not have given up the fight just as the Independent National Electoral Commission has released new timetable for the exercise.
Following the throwing out of the appeal by Senator Melaye by an Abuja High Court, the electoral body is now ready to carry on with the recall process set to start on October 14th with verification exercise at all the polling units.
The timetable which was signed by the Commission’s Secretary, Augusta Ogwuka revealed that INEC notification of exercise will be released on October 3rd. She also disclosed that the lawmaker will be notified adequately so as to get him prepared for the exercise.
She said, “In fixing the timetable for the verification, sufficient time has been provided for the senator to study the petition and accompanying materials to effectively prepare for the verification in accordance with the order of the Federal High Court, Abuja.”
Trouble started for Senator Melaye after his constituents in Kogi West Senatorial District submitted signatures numbering 188,000 to the Commission seeing to recall it’s representative which they claimed they have not felt his impact and hence he is not serving them but his own personal interest.
