Developing News: Man Becomes Incommunicado After Receiving N70m Donations For Sick Son

 

Confirmed reports reaching BlackBox Nigeria has it that a man who seeked public help for his sick son might have absconded days after gathering N70m from internet users, mostly Nigerians.

BBN gathered that the man, simply identified as Monday F Agoboye had in January took to the Rivers State Government House, Port Harcourt to call for help as he needed N15m for an operation prescribed for his 6months old baby boy, who was born with several holes in the heart.

It was learnt that despite not getting the attention of the Governor, who was said to be on his way out for a political campaign when he got there, Mr Monday got the sympathy of passerbys who also recorded him while crying and posted it on the internet. The video then went viral. It was gathered that it was at this point an NGO, KBK Foundation took it upon itself to gather the needed funds for the operation.

To the surprise of the Foundation, the sick boy’s video gathered N70m in just 2days, even though it was just N15m that was needed for the operation, it was at this point donations were halted and the boy scheduled for his operation.

The story however changed on Saturday, February 2nd when the Foundation disclosed that Mr Monday has not been responding to calls and has even blocked their social media account from sending him message. The Foundation then disclosed that it can’t give update on the case of Agoboye Junior as his father, Mr Monday has not been reachable.
