Buhari To Audit Own Policies, Programmes, Projects; Sets Up Committee

BUHARI TO AUDIT OWN POLICIES, PROGRAMMES, PROJECTS; SETS UP COMMITTEE

President Muhammadu Buhari won the 2019 Presidential election to return elected as president for another four years.

 

In appraisal of how the current administration has thrived in its first term, President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the Constitution of a 15 man Policies, Programmes and Projects Audit Committee, BlackBox Nigeria reports.

According to the statement made available to BlackBox Nigeria in the late hours of today, Tuesday 12th 2019, the purpose of setting up the committee is to audit and determine the status of implementation of policies programmes and projects either inherited or commenced by the out-going Administration.

The statement has it that the approved committee will now feature the Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo as chairman and 14 others as members.

 

The other members of the committee include:

 

Chief of Staff to the President, Head of Civil Service of the Federation, Minister of Budget and National Planning, Minister of Finance, Minister of Power, Works & Housing, Hon. Attorney General & Minister of Justice, Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Minister of Transportation, Minister of Agriculture & Rural Development, Minister of Water Resources Governor, Central Bank of Nigeria, National Security Adviser, Permanent Secretary, Cabinet Affairs Office and Deputy Chief of Staff to the President as Member/Secretary

The committee according to the statement will identify and highlight a residue of works and challenges that may militate against their successful implementation by preparing and producing a detailed working document that would guide the incoming Cabinet Members on the direction of Government regarding policies, programmes and projects.

 

 

 

As its last terms of reference, the committee will after inauguration, co-opt any organization(s)/person(s) relevant towards the successful execution of the exercise and Make any other recommendation(s) as may be necessary.

 

 

 

The Permanent Secretary, General Services Office, Olusegun A. Adekunle, Esq who signed the statement further revealed that the inauguration of the committee will now take place on Friday 15th March 2019 at the Vice President’s Conference Room by 3.00pm.
