As Trump Quits Paris Accord, Elon Musk Quits Trump’s Advisory Council

As President of United State, Donald Trump quits, the Paris Climate Agreement, one person that will also be quitting his engagement with the White House is Billionaire Risk taker, Elon Musk, BlackBox Nigeria reliably gathered.

Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, until yesterday was one of 18 business leaders serving on Trump’s chief business advisory council, known as the Strategic and Policy Forum. The alternative energy focused billionaire was also an adviser on the president’s manufacturing jobs initiative, and has met with Trump to talk about infrastructure spending.

By  withdrawing from the Paris climate agreement, the world’s second emitter of greenhouse gases is taking the lid off issues surrounding global warming. President Trump is of the opinion that the Agreement is not favourable to the United States and impose unfair economic burden on the US.

According to Wikipedia, the Paris Agreement is an agreement within the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) dealing with greenhouse gas emissions mitigation, adaptation and finance starting in the year 2020. The language of the agreement was negotiated by representatives of 195 countries at the 21st Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC in Paris and adopted by consensus on 12 December 2015.

Elon Reeve Musk, a South African- born Canadian-American business magnate, investor, engineer, and inventor, tweet on Thursday, “I’m departing presidential councils. Climate change is real. Leaving Paris is not good for America or the world,” Musk said shortly after the president announced from the Rose Garden that he would begin the process of leaving the accord.
