By Ambode Denies Stepping Down 2nd Term Ambition Following Viral Report
Executive Governor of Lagos State, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode has refuted claims that he is backing out from second tenure, BlackBox Nigeria can report.
Governor Ambode’s denial is coming on the heels of a viral message fast gaining attention on the social media. In the message sighted by BBN, it was alleged that the Governor announced his withdrawal from contesting in the next gubernatorial election in the State.
In his reaction which was communicated by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Habib Aruna, Governor Ambode disclosed that he only got to know about the message on the social media, and never emanatednfrom the State Government House.
The statement reads, “My attention has been drawn to a falsehood spreading across social media platforms on the endorsement of a candidate for the Lagos State Governorship position by His Excellency, Governor Akinwunmi Ambode.
“There is no iota of truth in the said statement and it did not emanate from the Governor or his office. We are not oblivious of the desperation of some misguided individuals who are hellbent on fanning the embers of discord within the Lagos APC.”
