As voters head to the polls for the Osun State governorship election tomorrow, the Centre for Democracy and Development (CDD) and Premium Times Centre for Investigative Journalism (PTCIJ) have mobilize observers to  provide accurate and timely information on the process through an Election Analysis Centre.

This  was stated in a press statement jointly signed by Idayat Hassan

The Centre according to the statement made available to BlackBox Nigeria will provide the public with constructive analysis of election day activities and an aggregation of real-time updates from field observers at every stage of the process.

“The Election Analysis Centre will bring together renowned experts in the field of election to contextually analyze unfolding events on election day. A total of 180 trained and accredited observers will feed the Centre with real time information and data as the electoral process shapes up. Out of this number, 80 roving observers will keep an eye and report on the process across the 30 LGAs in Osun State. Another batch of 100 will be stationed and observe developments in polling units across 10 LGAs evenly distributed in the three Senatorial districts.

“The Analysis Centre, which will be in Premium Times Office, 53, Mambolo Street, Zone 2, Wuse, Abuja, is open to journalists and development practitioners all through Election Day for updates, interviews and visitation.

“For any update on #OsunDecides2018 Election Day activities, please, follow @CDDWestAfrica and @ptcij.”

The two organizations emphasized that all electoral offences, including vote buying and selling, are punishable by law. The Centre encourages electorates to report any incident and election related matters on twitter using #SnapAndSend to protect their votes.
