Note these too:

He takes spirits (not, spirit). A strong alcoholic drink or liquor is called spirits.

I want beverage, preferably beer. (not, necessarily to say alcohol). Any liquid that can be consumed apart from water is a beverage.

He had the gall to disrespect his father (not, the mind).

It’s the close of work; good evening everyone (not, good night). The time of the day between dusk and night when it gets dark is evening not night. So, the appropriate greeting at the close of work is to say “Good evening”.
