Olympic Lyonnais on Friday filed charges against League rival, Marseille as news alleged the damaging of the Groupama Stadium used for the 2018 Europa League Final which ended in 3 goals to nil in favour of Spanish side, Athletico Madrid.

According to local news, a comprehensive report released by Lyon disclosed that several assets were damaged, including doors, turnstiles, lights and the video surveillance system.

Lyon also said about 105 damaged seats needed replacing. It added that all of them are located in the area where Marseille fans gathered during the final against Diego Simeone’s men.

The report also stated that some food and goods were stolen from merchandise shops located in the area and pyrotechnic distress flares launched before the match by Marseille fans caused “important damages” to the roof of the stadium, as the flares also landed on the main pitch.

BlackBox Nigeria gathered that officials of the Lyon Stadium were seen on Friday working to keep the place ready for the last Ligue 1 game against Nice on Saturday. Lyon is currently struggling to keep it’s 3rd position on the League table and secure a direct UEFA Champions League spot in next season, but faces a strong competition from Marseille and Monaco.
