Lawmaker Slap National Assembly Staff For Wanting To Use Same Lift WIth Her

 

A mild drama was experienced on Monday at the National Assembly after Senator Biodun Olujimi (Ekiti South, PDP) ordered her aide to slap an official who attempted to use same lift with her.

BlackBox Nigeria gathered from a NASS source that the official, who is a member of the Parliamentary Staff Association of Nigeria (PASAN) was humiliated by the lawmaker and her aide for wanting to ride in same lift with them. It was gathered that the Senator was on her way to the public hearing of the Senate Committee on Petroleum Downstream, investigating the N5tr subsidy allegedly paid to the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation.

The humiliated PASAN member, whose identity is yet to be unveiled immediately reached out to his Association members, fortunately for him, the group were holding a Congress very close to the scene of incident. The members who got to the mouth of the elevator almost immediately they were called caused a scenario as they stormed out of the Congress after hearing that one of their own was slapped. The lawmaker was immediately taken away by the security aides attached to her.

Speaking after the incident, one of the Association member vowed to start using elevator with lawmakers as he said no Senator will ever push him out. It was however learnt that the ugly situation is coming at a time PASAN were planning a strike. It was disclosed that the Congress being held on Monday was in line with activities for the commencement of industrial action.
